Our Dojo

ISKF Calgary

Located in the Northeast of Calgary and affiliated to the International Shotokan Karate Federation, the doors to our dojo opened in 1985 by Sensei David Jones. Over the years, ISKF Calgary has been responsible for producing several hundred black belts, many of whom have gone on to become provincial, national and international champions. The dojo currently hosts over 200 regular students with classes being offered 7 days a week.

Our karate school has a stellar reputation for the quality of karate instruction it offers. We have beginner, intermediate and advanced classes throughout the week. New members are always welcome and we recommend that you come by and try a class at any time.

We have a firm belief that the opportunity for the practice of karate is a valuable asset in our community. Children who train with us do better at school while developing the tangible skills of focus and determination. Adults too can gain tremendous benefit in this regard and everyone realises the value of better health and overall fitness.

The dojo is a safe, positive and welcoming environment. We are very enthusiastic in what we teach and practice, and our goal is to see you achieve boundless success in your karate practice.

With worldwide affiliation in nearly 90 countries there are a multitude of events to participate in. From local to international levels there are seminars and training camps available. For those students wishing to compete, there are regularly scheduled tournaments that span the spectrum of abilities.

We have taught many thousands of successful students in Calgary and the fact that there are now three generations of student members is a testament to the value and quality of what we offer.
